As part of its first phase of work (2000-2004) the Committee has recognized the importance of standardized microarray data
formats and public repository databases as the mechanism by which microarray data can be compared and interpreted by the
scientific community at large. In view of this, the Committee partnered with the European Bioinformatics Institute
(http://www.ebi.ac.uk/) to develop a database to house the data generated by the Committee as part of its collaborative
research. The database is be consistently annotated and integrated with other relevant information (e.g., histopathology,
clinical chemistry, gross observations, etc.), employs standard controlled vocabulary. The databases houses the majority of the
data generated during the 2000-2004 phase of the HESI genomics research program.
