Society of Toxicology

SOT ABSTRACT DEADLINE:  OCTOBER 3, 2007

The SOT abstract submission site is now open to accept abstract submissions for Platform and Poster Session presentations at the 47th Annual Meeting of the Society of Toxicology, March 16-20, 2008 in Seattle, Washington.  All 2008 abstract submissions will be electronic. Please consider sharing your important research findings by submitting an abstract at http://sot2008.abstractcentral.com.

The Program Committee is hard at work developing the slate of timely and highly informative symposia, roundtables, workshops and other special sessions that span the entire spectrum of topics of interest to our diverse membership.  The 2008 program promises to be yet another banner year for the exchange of the most recent advances in toxicological sciences

The SOT Annual Meeting attracts thousands of scientists - from undergraduates to senior investigators - who devote their professional efforts to the advancement of toxicological sciences.  This meeting offers an unparalleled opportunity to explore the depth and breadth of the field, renew or foster relationships, and educate the public and other constituencies about the excitement of biomedical research.  Based on high quality submissions from the general membership, this year's program has been crafted to highlight 4 scientific themes of topical interest:  developmental basis of disease, oxidative signaling and redox biology, nanotechnology and stem cell biology and toxicology.

The use of this thematic approach for our Annual Meeting will afford attendees the opportunity to benefit from depth of analysis and reflection on timely topics of relevance to toxicologists and will help position meeting participants to effectively develop strategies for active involvement in these areas.  A specific goal as part of the thematic approach is to actively recruit abstract submissions that will be highlighted in featured platform and poster sessions at the Annual Meeting and that will illustrate the core contributions of toxicology to these areas.  Additional details about incorporation of these themes into the Annual Meeting will be forthcoming.

For reference, SOT has developed Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to help you submit an abstract for the 2008 Annual Meeting.  Just click the link below to access our FAQs - http://www.toxicology.org/ai/meet/am2008/submitab.asp.

We hope you will present your most recent significant research results at the 2008 Annual Meeting of SOT in Seattle.  The deadline to submit an abstract is October 3, 2007 at 11:59 PM (Eastern Daylight Time).
