HESI Global Technical Committees

The HESI Board of Trustees approves the establishment of a technical committee when a sufficient number of members and public participants share a common interest in an aspect of toxicology, health or environmental safety, or other scientific matters of mutual concern to the public, the scientific community, government agencies, and industry. Technical committees support scientific research, as well as sponsor symposia and workshops at which current scientific developments are presented and discussed. By pooling financial and intellectual resources, the technical committees support highly credible, unbiased scientific activities, utilize the expertise of outstanding scientists in a specific field, and address short-term problems as well as long-range fundamental questions of science. Exemplifying the dynamic nature of HESI 's scientific portfolio, a HESI technical committee (or project committee) continues operation until its members and the Board of Trustees, through the program stewardship program, determine that the goals of the committee have been achieved, at which point the committee is disbanded.
